Montezuma, a small town in the southern part of Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula is a place where nature is still preserved in its raw form. Costa Rica was known for its bumpy road and dirt beauty but over the years, different parts of the country has been renovated and given a modern look, but not Montezuma.
It is more remote, making Montezuma a little difficult to get to -it takes about 6hours to get to the village from city - and, therefore, not overly crowded. The people who make the trek are usually a mixture of ardent nature lovers. From backpackers, young families, couples looking for a romantic getaway, people seeking serenity.
With long stretch of white-sand beach, Playa Montezuma; a trail leading through the jungle with local monkeys, birds, butterflies, and other wildlife, and to Playa Grande, a popular surf beach towards the Northeast; behind the beach is Romelia Wildlife Reserve, a turtle sanctuary and hatchery; Waterfall, a series of cascades and natural pools. Montezuma gives you the Bohemian vibe making it one if the coolest paradise for relaxation.
